Roselyn Blumkin, age 90, of Oak Ridge passed away
Thursday June 26, 2008 at Briarcliff Health Care Center after numerous
health problems over the past year.
Mrs. Blumkin came to Oak Ridge to be with her husband during World War II.
She worked at K-25 until her first son was born. Before moving to Oak Ridge
she worked at Macy’s department store in New York City and at the Brooklyn
Navy Yard.
Mrs. Blumkin was a member of the Jewish Congregation of Oak Ridge and a
member of Hadassah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Blumkin, and her parents,
sister, and brother. She is survived by her son David and his wife, Linda,
and their two children, Matthew and Sarah all of Grand Forks, ND and by her
son Kenneth and his wife, Beth, and their two children, Lauren and Greysen,
all of Huntsville, AL.
The funeral will be held Friday June 27, 2008 2:00pm in the chapel of Martin
Oak Ridge Funeral Home with interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery. Her
family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to the Children’s
Museum of Oak Ridge.
