Born:

Sandra Marie Brown, 63, of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday April 7, 2009 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Sandra was born May 28, 1948 in Oak Ridge to Roy Clyde and Lottie Marie Hale Brown, both now deceased. Sandra was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Oak Ridge. She was a long time employee of Weigels where she was manager and retired in November of 2008. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, was an avid reader, and enjoyed researching her genealogy. She especially enjoyed her dog, Rascal. She earned her BA degree in education from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Before working at Weigels she taught elementary and special education classes in Florida.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Karen Brown of Ellenwood, GA; her sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Chuck Lackey and their daughter Jayna of Everett, WA; a devoted Aunt Helen Brown of Oak Ridge and a special friend MS Gerry Zambo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 11, 2009 11:00am in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Bishop Russell Williams officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday April 13, 2009 11:00am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Sandra’s memory.
