Born:

Mary Lou Chilcoat, age 89, of Oak Ridge passed away Monday September 29, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospice in Knoxville.
Mary was born May 26, 1919 in Double Springs, Alabama to the late Gorge and Nettie Corbin Seymour. She moved to Oak Ridge in the late 1940’s and was a member of Central Baptist Church and later Glenwood Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Mary was very active in her church and enjoyed traveling, camping, and gardening.
Preceded in death June 15, 2002 by her husband of 65 years Woodrow Chilcoat, Mary is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws Terry and Judy Chilcoat of Norris, Tennessee, Woody and Sharon Chilcoat of Roanoke, Virginia, and Mark and Yvonne Chilcoat of Medford, Oregon, one sister Billye Guttery of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and two grandchildren Shannon Chilcoat and Geoffrey Chilcoat.
Funeral service will be held Thursday October 2, 2008 7:00pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Lynn Hodges officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday October 3, 2008 11:00am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday October 2, 2008 6:00 to 7:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Mary’s Residential Hospice 7447 Andersonville Pike Knoxville, Tennessee 37938.
