Grace Florence Crosby, 82, formerly of Oak Ridge passed
away Wednesday March 25, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Campbell County.
Grace was born April 17, 1926 in New York City to the late John and Felicia
Crosby. She moved with her parents from Staten Island, New York to Oak Ridge
in 1967 where she became a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Grace was
an avid reader, and loved baseball especially the New York Yankees. She
designed and knitted clothes for the Knitting Nook in Oak Ridge. Grace
became a resident of Briarcliff Nursing Home in 1997 and most recently of
Sunbridge Nursing Home of LaFollette.
Grace is survived by two sisters: Lillian Burke of Sayreville, New Jersey,
and Joan Newman and her husband Eugene of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, nieces:
Geraldine Nevins and her husband Donald of Maple Shade, New Jersey, Patricia
Grabowski and her husband Andrew of Millington, New Jersey, Colleen Tufano
and her husband Michael of Lititz, Pennsylvania, nephew Gerard Newman and
his wife Victoria of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, grand nieces and nephews: Jessica,
Natasha, and A. J. Grabowski, and Joseph and Maria Tufano.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday March 28, 2009 11:00am at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church with interment to follow at 1:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial
Park.
Grace was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be greatly missed by
all.
