Linda C. Davis, age 80 of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday December 9, 2008 at NHC Health Care in Oak Ridge. She was born January 11, 1928 in Hodges Alabama to Clayton and Myrtle Smith Engle. She married Joseph Daniel Davis on January 10, 1952 at the Chapel on the Hill in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Central Baptist church and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Lula Engle, her husband, two brother’s I.V. Engle and W.T Engle and one sister Bea Grayson. She is survived by two daughters Carol Gassaway and husband Richard of Oak Ridge, and Jo Evans and husband Steve of Tullahoma, TN, one son Phillip Davis of Crestview, FL. Grandchildren, Adams Davis of Atlanta, GA, Marcus Young of Knoxville, TN, Angela Young Clapp of Jefferson City, TN, Elaine Young of Jefferson City, TN, Ashley McKay Scott of Estill Springs, TN, and Kyle McKay United States Navy of Oak Harbor, WA., also by three great-grandchildren Thomas Clapp, IV, Sophie Clapp, and Lotus Clapp. She is also survived by one sister Jacquelyn Engle of Knoxville, TN.
