Doyle Fred England, 90, a former long time resident of
Oak Ridge, went to see our Lord and Savior Tuesday evening September 30,
2008 after suffering from congestive heart failure. Doyle and his wife of 71
years, Helen Carol Humfleet England, resided with James and Bobbie Kaye
Wallace England in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was born January 26, 1918 in Harrogate, Tennessee to the late Arthur M.
and Ada Eddington England. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He was a man of high morals and great honor. He was dedicated to his Lord,
family and country. He loved sports and his friends and neighbors and was
the neighborhood handyman always making repairs, mowing lawns and lending a
helping hand to his neighbors whenever needed. He was a retired Mechanical
Engineer from Martin Marietta having worked at Y-12. He was a member of
Central Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son Jack England and a
daughter-in-law Jean Stroupe England (Mrs. Donald England). He is survived
by his wife Carol England of Jacksonville, Florida, sons Donald England of
Austin, Texas, and James and his wife Bobbie Kaye Wallace England of
Jacksonville, Florida, daughter and son-in law Helen and David Pickens of
Atlanta, Georgia, daughter-in-law Charlotte Garrison England (Mrs. Jack
England) of Knoxville, Tennessee, ten grandchildren, Nineteen great
grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
There will be a graveside service in the chapel of Oak Ridge Memorial Park
Saturday October 4, 2008 10:00am with Pastor Tom Jobe officiating.
