Dorothy Irene Coleman Hensley, age 88, of Smyrna, Tennessee, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday January 18, 2009 at National Health Care Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Dorothy was born on November 29, 1920 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Charles Luther and Essie Florine Leach Coleman. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Smyrna and was retired from Methodist Medical Center where she had been employed as a secretary for Betty Cantwell.
Mrs. Hensley is preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ellen Coleman, brother Charles Coleman, sisters; Ailene Vesser and Evelyn Nimmo. She is survived by her sister Mary Katherine Mattera of Edgewater, Maryland, several nieces and nephews including Ray and Melba Shockney of Smyrna, Tennessee with whom she made her home.
A committal service will be held Wednesday January 21, 2009 2:00pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Brother Bill Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
