Nina Marie Keathley, age 101, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday May 7, 2009 at NHC Healthcare of Oak Ridge.
Mrs. Keathley was born August 7, 1907 in Arkansas Post, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Grace Redmond Sinkley. She moved to Oak Ridge August 24, 1945 from Helena, Arkansas and was employed by Union Carbide in the purchasing department until her retirement in 1969. An avid wrestling fan, for her 101st birthday she attended a taping of WWE Monday Night Raw in Knoxville, Nina also enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Keathley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Charlotte Keathley of Oak Ridge, one daughter Geraldine K. Wakefield of Oak Ridge, one brother Elmer Sinkley of Little Rock, Arkansas, one sister Helen Lambird of Newton, Illinois, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren, and special friends Dot and Coleen Shotts.
A graveside service was held Sunday May 10 2009 3:00pm at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of NHC for all of the love and care given to Nina over the past two years.
