Addie Marie Deyton Lynch, age 91, of Oak Ridge passed
away Wednesday July 16, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center.
Mrs. Lynch was born August 21, 1916 in Erwin, Tennessee to the late Robert
Handy Deyton and Mary Buena Vista Bailey Deyton. (Her name Buena Vista
meaning pretty valley) She was the youngest and also the last surviving
child having four brothers and three sisters preceding her in death. She is
also preceded in death by her husband Richard Marvin Lynch who passed away
June 14, 2006. Mrs. Lynch was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the
Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She loved to play bridge, was a great
cook, and was a very good basketball player in high school where she was in
competition with two of her three sisters who attended other schools. She
worked for the FBI during WWII in Washington DC. She retired from Union
Carbide Y-12 where she was employed as a secretary.
Mrs. Lynch is survived by her son John Lynch and his wife Paula Ann of Oak
Ridge, sister-in-law Luellen Deyton, and grandchildren Derek, Emily,
Kristen, Jennifer, and Rebecca.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 19, 2008 11:00am at Faith
Lutheran Church with Rev. William Wagner officiating with interment
following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends
Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00am at the church. In lieu of flowers the family
has requested donation be made to Knox Area Rescue Ministries at P.O. Box
3310 Knoxville, TN 37927 or Second Harvest Food Bank at 922 Delaware Ave
