Norma Christine “Chris” Waddle, age 85 of Oak Ridge passed away Monday December 15, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Chris was born March 4, 1923 in Tullahoma, Tennessee to the late Odell and Minnie Davis Holt. A member of Faith Promise Church Chris was a Loving mother, doting grandmother, hairdresser, expert seamstress, and was known for being able to fix anything from plumbing to electrical problems.
Chris is preceded in death by her husband James Robert “Jim” Waddle, brothers; Gerald, J.R. and Tallie Holt, and one sister Hallie Holt. She is survived by sons; James Robert Waddle, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Oliver Springs, Charlie Waddle of Wartburg, Gerald Waddle of Knoxville, and Danny Waddle and his wife Joette of Harriman, daughter Tammy Vann and her husband Victor of Oak Ridge, brother Robert Holt, Sr. and his wife Jackie of Tullahoma, grandchildren; James, Brylee, Kevin, Charlsie, Charlie, Makayla, and Jackson Waddle, Katie Brown, Chrissy Bean, and Jackson and Jarod Vann, great grandchildren; Alicia Crandall, Aubrey Waddle, and Isaac Waddle, nieces and nephews; Tim and Sherry Duke, Mark and Karen Duke, Lisa Kelsey, Rose Mary and David Baldwin, Junior and Rosie Garrett, Jerry Lyn and Robert Lundy, Pat and Everett Lundy, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 18, 2008 7:00pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Leslie officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday December 19, 2008 12:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday December 18, 2008 5:00 to7:00pm at the funeral home.
