Earl Wayne Adkison, age 68 of Clinton, TN passed away Sunday September 23, 2007 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mr. Adkison was born September 16, 1939 in Coffey County Alabama to James William and Viola Phillips Adkison who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by one brother Ervin Adkison, one sister Verina Sharp and one son Bruce Adkison. Mr. Adkison retired from Y-12/K-25 plants and was a member of the Clinton Church of God. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. He enjoyed fishing, computers and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Adkison is survived by his wife of 46 years Dorothy Montgomery Adkison, a son Wayne Adkison, two daughters Sonya Roberts and her husband Jeff, Sherrie Mecca and her husband Joe. He is also survived by five grandchildren Alica and Alana Lopez, Austin and James Mecca, and Andrew Adkison and by two sisters Myrtle Bethea, and Syble Turner and by one brother Alcus Adkison and his wife Betty, two sisters-in-law Faytha Smith and Maxine Nichols. There will be a graveside service Wednesday September 26, 2007 at 11:30am at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday September 25 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
