Born:

William Howard Culbert, Sr., age 77, passed away Friday November 9, 2007 after an extended illness. He was born in New York City to Henry and Louise Culbert. He graduated from Carson Newman College and the University of Tennessee. He worked for Union Carbide and Lockheed Martin for 42 years in the research reactor division at ORNL as a shift engineer and compliance engineer. He retired in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Chunn Culbert and two children. His daughter Susan Thomas and husband Jerry of Knoxville. His son, Dr. William Culbert, Jr. and wife Elaine live in Oak Ridge. He has two grandchildren, Michael Boucher, Jr. and wife holly, and Matthew Culbert. He has three great grandchildren. He has a brother Henry Culbert and his wife Muriel. Graveside services will be Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 11:00 am in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:30-8:00 pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
