Ruth Lee Darden, age 83 of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday July 17, 2007 at NHC Oak Ridge Health Care. Mrs. Darden was born July 12, 1924 in Tazewell, TN to Joseph W. and Viola Lee Dossett who are both now deceased. Mrs. Darden was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she was very active and sang in the church choir. She was also a past president of the League of Women Voters and enjoyed hiking, walking and was an amateur painter. . Mrs. Darden was medical reception with several doctor offices and retired working for Dr. Cruze. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Weir.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years Edgar Darden of Oak Ridge, a son Glen Thomas Leinart of Mosheim, TN. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Bailey Norman officiating with a reception to follow after the service in the fellowship hall at the church. Interment will be in the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens.
