Paul B. Eisenhauer, 87, passed away on April 25, 2007 in
Oak Ridge, Tennessee where he had been residing since December, 2006. He was
born in Dayton, Ohio on April 4, 1920 to the late Charles P. and Estella L.
(Focke) Eisenhauer. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary
Alice (Ritzert), and four sons: David P. Eisenhauer of Columbia, South
Carolina; Steven J. Eisenhauer of Cincinnati, Ohio; John T. Eisenhauer of
Melbourne, Florida; and Mark J. Eisenhauer of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Surviving family also includes eight grandchildren, and three
great-grandchildren.
Brothers Richard J. Eisenhauer and William J. Eisenhauer and sisters, Martha
J. Toll, Adele M. Eisenhauer, and Helen Ann Witt also survive him.
Stepmother Helen G. (Unger) Eisenhauer, brothers Charles A. Eisenhauer, Rev.
James F. Eisenhauer, and Thomas W. Eisenhauer and sisters Mary Catherine
Donovan and Dorothy L. Wagner preceded him in death.
As an active member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Kettering
Ohio for more than 50 years, he served the parish as a lector and
Eucharistic minister.
Paul graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic School in 1932, Chaminade High
School in 1938 and attended the University of Dayton. He was thereafter
employed by the Universal Tool Company until serving in the U.S. Navy during
World War II from 1943 to 1946. He returned to Universal Tool following the
war and became its president in 1968 until retiring in 1985. In addition he
was a cofounder of EICOM Corporation and a company director from 1981 to
2005.
Paul was an active participant in several Dayton area service organizations.
He was former president and the last surviving charter member of the
Riverdale Optimist Club, as well as a member of Optimist International. He
was an Honorary Member of the Dayton Tooling & Manufacturing Association (DTMA),
which he served as President in 1961. He was also a member of the Engineers
Club of Dayton.
Paul will be remembered as a quietly generous man who taught and led by
example. His loyalty and devotion to his family, friends, and church were
evident to all who knew him and gifts we will cherish always.
Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday April 30, at Meyer-Boehmer
& Reis funeral home, 1733 South Brown Street, Dayton, OH 45409. A mass
celebrating Paul’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at
Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church.
