Numerous patents were granted on his conceptual designs. In 1954 the Glass family moved to Norris where Mr. Glass served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and training union director in the Baptist church. He also served on the city council and as program chairman for the Lions Club. Mr. Glass moved back to Oak Ridge in 1963 and became active in the First Christian Church. When the Oak Ridge Camp of the Gideons International was organized in 1975 he became a charter member and served in many capacities as long as his health permitted. His services included a seven year jail ministry at the Anderson County jail. Mr. Glass enjoyed many hobbies. He was active in the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club when first organized, serving as program chairman. Every piece of equipment in his amateur radio station W4KNY was designed and built by him. He had radio contacts in fifty states and all continents. Other hobbies included canoeing, fishing, wood-working, photographing landscapes and playing the organ.
