Beatrice A. Young, 87, of Oak Ridge, TN went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2007. Mrs. Young was married for 45 wonderful years to her late husband, Carl Young, who passed away on December 11, 1990. Mrs. Young met Mr. Young while they both served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mrs. Young served from 1943 – 1945.
After her children graduated high school, Mrs. Young attended Cosmetology School in Southern California and later became a cosmetology instructor for the Chula Vista Beauty College which she managed and taught students for more than 20years.
Mrs. Young loved to garden, crochet, knit and passionately read her Bible. She was a member of Faith Promise Church in Knoxville.
Mrs. Young is survived by a daughter, Jackie Young and grandson, Sven Hultenius, of Oak Ridge, TN; a granddaughter, Barbara Williams, spouse, Michael, and three great grandchildren, Taylor, Niki and Nyah, who reside in Tucson AZ. Mrs. Young’s son, Greg Young, resides with his wife, Mary, in Hickory, NC. Granddaughter, Christine Young and two great grandchildren, Allen and Sarah reside in Oak Ridge; and granddaughter, Donna Adams, spouse, Brian, and great granddaughter, Ashley resides in Chattanooga.
Gail Young, Mrs. Young’s late daughter-in-law, preceded her into Heaven on December 4, 2003.
A memorial service will be held Saturday December 15, 2007 10:30am in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday December 15, 2007 from 10:00 to 10:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Faith Promise Church building fund at 10740 Faith Promise Lane Knoxville, TN 37931-1304.
